Data science offers a key set of tools and methods for ro bust and reproducible analyses of brain imaging data. These sessions are t he first in a series that will teach students fundamental skills that cont ribute to reproducible brain science.\n\nProject Bio\n\nSince 2018\, a gro up of neuroscientists from several Canadian universities and institutions have been collaborating to create and teach a curriculum for neuroimaging analysis and neuroinformatics. Adopting open standards like BIDS and foste ring FAIR principles is among the strategic goals of this training program . This project is seeking a form of accreditation from The Carpentries\, w hose vision is to be the leading inclusive community teaching data and cod ing skills. For this reason\, we name our effort NeuroCarpentry.\n \n Sessio n 1 - Introduction to working with MRI data and BIDS with Python\n Friday\, May 28\, 11:00-13:30 EDT\n Instructor(s): Michael Joseph\, CAMH\n Github li nk: https://github.com/carpentries-incubator/SDC-BIDS-IntroMRI\n \n Session 2 - Structural Neuroimaging Analysis in Python\n Friday\, June 4\, 11:00-13 :30 EDT\n Instructors: Nikhil Bhagwat\, ÂÌñÉç\; Michael Dayan\, Fondation Campus Biotech Geneva\n Github link: https://github.com/carpentries-incubat or/SDC-BIDS-sMRI\n \n Session 3 - Working with EEG-BIDS in EEGLAB (Matlab)\n Friday\, June 11\, 11:00-13:30 EDT\n Instructors: James Desjardins\, SHARCN ET\, Compute Ontario\, Compute Canada\, Brock\n University\; Sara Stephenso n (TA)\, Brock University\n Github links: https://carpentries-incubator.git hub.io/SDC-BIDS-EEG-EEGLAB/\n https://carpentries-incubator.github.io/SDC-E EGLAB/\n\nNote\n\nSome familiarity with Python is helpful for the first tw o lessons (Introduction to working with MRI data and BIDS with Python and Structural NeuroImaging Analysis in Python). Introductions to Python can b e found in such lessons as Software Carpentry’s Plotting and Programming i n Python and Programming with Python.\n\nHow to sign up\n\nPlease follow t his link to sign up for one or more of these upcoming lessons:\n\nhttps:// mcgill.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUsdeqorzMjHN1Ai4TQAZQPmX8QctEloZum\n\nPl ease share this announcement widely.\n\nCollaborators:\n\n\n Erin Dickie (C AMH\, University of Toronto)\n Jerrold Jeyachandra (CAMH)\n Michael Joseph ( CAMH)\n Jason Kai (Western University)\n Ariel Rokem (eScience Institute / U of Washington)\n Olivia Stanley (Western University)\n Jon Haitz Legarreta (Université de Sherbrooke)\n Nikhil Parag Bhagwat (ÂÌñÉç)\n P.J.
