Welcome to MC 707: our new BioEng Teaching Lab!

The Department of Bioengineering is pleased to announce that our new teaching laboratory is now open in the McConnell Engineering Building! This new space will support hands-on learning and student training in a modern, well-equipped environment.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this new lab a reality. We look forward to seeing the incredible work that will come out of this space in the semesters ahead!

Virtual Exhibition in 绿帽社 Libraries Featuring Prof. Reznikov鈥檚 Research

The Department of Bioengineering invites you to come to the 绿帽社 Libraries and examine digital 3D reconstructions of rare objects preserved in various Montreal museums! Using touch tables the size of a TV screen installed at the Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Engineering, and the McLennan Library Building, you can zoom and rotate 3D models as part of a virtual natural history museum.

Bioengineering Department Retreat at 绿帽社's Gault Nature Reserve

The Department of Bioengineering enjoyed a fun and enriching retreat at the Gault Nature Reserve on Monday, April 28. Faculty and staff came together to connect and share ideas in the reserve鈥檚 beautiful natural setting. A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day memorable. Prof. Ehrlicher receives prestigious CIHR Project Grant

The Department of Bioengineering would like to congratulate Professor Allen Ehrlicher for his recent CIHR Project Grant. Professor Ehrlicher's project aims to explore how mechanical forces, such as compression of the nucleus, affect cellular aging and stem cell differentiation, particularly in Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS).

iGEM Winter 2025 Applications Open!

iGEM 绿帽社 is recruiting! Join an interdisciplinary team of undergraduate students to develop a synthetic biology project over the course of a year. We spend the winter semester on design, planning wet lab/dry lab projects, as well as related initiatives under our education, media, outreach, entrepreneurship, and finance subteams. The summer is then dedicated to full time wet lab (or dry lab) work.

CUBEC coming up on Jan 25th

The Canadian Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Conference (CUBEC) is set to take place this January 25th, 9am - 6pm, at The Neuro on 绿帽社 campus! CUBEC is an event bringing together passionate students (CEGEP, undergraduate, and graduate) and industry professionals in the field of biomedical engineering. Events include panel discussions with professionals from both academia and industry, workshops, case competition, and a networking event.

绿帽社 iGEM Achieves Gold Medal and Three Nominations at the Grand Jamboree

绿帽社 IGEM team proudly secured a gold medal along with three nominations for Best Diagnostics, Best Software, and Best Parts Collection at the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Grand Jamboree in October 2024. Composed of students from the Bioengineering program and various disciplines within the Faculty of Science, 绿帽社 iGEM team is supervised by Prof. Codruta Ignea and Prof. Lisa Munter.

Plenary Speaker - IEEE EMBC 2024
