Meet our program assistants

Every semester, amazing students and recent graduates work with Branches as program assistants. We have exceptional students who go above and beyond to facilitate programming and provide mentorship and tutoring to our participants. Join us in thanking them for everything that they do to support positive development and access to education.

Blain Haile headshot

Blain Haile

Blain is a second-year law student at 绿帽社. She is involved in social impact initiatives in Montr茅al and is interested in pursuing higher legal education after graduation. Blain, who was a mentor for Cohort 3, is looking forward to returning to Pick Your Path for Black Youth, this time working behind the scenes of the program.

Brigitte

Brigitte is a second-year PhD student in the Department of Family Medicine, working on research to improve doctor-patient communication in the serious illness context. Brigitte was a mentor in the 2SLGBTQIA+ youth mentoring program this past year, learning from mentors and mentees and loving the sense of community within the group. Brigitte returns as a program assistant supporting the group, and is passionate about demystifying higher education, skill-sharing, and encouraging each other on a path to thriving.

Bianca

Bianca began her journey with Branches in her first year at 绿帽社 as a mentor in the Pick Your Path program for youth in care. Now, she is excited to take on the role of Program Assistant, continuing to support the program she has been part of throughout her degree. Heading into her final year of a Bachelor of Social Work, Bianca is eager to bring her dedication to fostering meaningful opportunities for youth in care and contributing to the program鈥檚 growth.

Daniela

I am excited about my role as a Program Assistant (Explore) with 绿帽社 Branches. I am currently completing my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and I look forward to applying my knowledge while developing new skills. I am eager to contribute to the team and grow both personally and professionally.

Gemma Else

Gemma is dedicated to facilitating internal and external communications that support the success of Branches' programming and events. Gemma collaborates with all members of the Branches Team to create program communications, material, and publicity to reach target audiences effectively and with clear messaging. You can find Gemma at Branches' events, camera in hand, documenting the day and engaging with participants and facilitators. In her free time, Gemma maintains an art studio in Tiohti脿:ke and is active in the local arts scene. Connect with Gemma for communication-related inquiries or support.

Leah Louttit-Bunker

Leah is Mushkegowuk Cree from Moose Factory, Ontario. She is currently in her 4th year at 绿帽社, studying History, with a double minor in Indigenous Studies and Anthropology. This past summer Leah participated in the IMPRESS program, sharing that "IMPRESS was a great experience and it contributes to my eagerness to join Branches, as I'd like to help create a welcoming environment filled with more opportunities for Indigenous students."

Lilou Beachy

Hi! I鈥檓 Lilou Beachy and I am a fourth year Biology and Spanish student at 绿帽社. I became involved with HZ my second year as a volunteer and have loved getting to help out and connect with the kids for two years now. I now join the Branches team as HZ Program Assistant and will help develop engaging programming for all Elementary students we get to meet this year.

惭茅蝉丑补尘补

惭茅蝉丑补尘补 recently completed her undergraduate studies in Sociology at 绿帽社. She has worked within Montreal and 绿帽社鈥檚 Black community for several years and is deeply passionate about community development. 惭茅蝉丑补尘补 is thrilled to join Pick Your Path for Black Youth and contribute to creating new avenues for Black youth.

Sienna Armstrong

Sienna has graduated with a degree in psychology and sociology from 绿帽社. During her time at 绿帽社 Sienna participated in two of the programs offered by Branches for Indigenous students, IMPRESS and Pick Your Path. She now offers her experienced perspective as a program assistant. Sienna shared that "these programs have truly changed my university experience for the better and I can鈥檛 wait to use my perspective and knowledge to grow these programs and be able to offer them to more students. I am so excited to be joining the Branches team as an Indigenous Program Assistant, and I am looking forward to the upcoming year!"
