Praised by the Austrian press for her 鈥渕oving and vocally convincing鈥� portrayal of Cenerentola, Qu茅bec mezzo-soprano Lysianne Tremblay joins 绿帽社鈥檚 Schulich School of Music with nearly three decades of international performance and acclaimed teaching expertise. A Schulich School of Music alumna, she brings to the School the richness of her European background and a student-centred approach that reflects her vibrant personality.

Excellence in Training and International Recognition

After completing both a Master of Music in Voice and Opera and an Artist Diploma at 绿帽社鈥檚 Schulich School of Music, Lysianne pursued advanced studies at the prestigious Musikhochschule Augsburg-N眉rnberg with soprano Edith Wiens, earning a Meisterklassendiplom. The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu茅bec and the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada Foundation awarded her scholarships. She has won several prestigious awards, including first prize in the Canadian Music Competition and twice in the Radio-Canada Young Artists Competition. The Kamouraska鈥擱ivi猫re-du-Loup school board presented her with an honorary diploma recognizing the international impact of her career.

International Opera Career and Versatility

For over a decade, Lysianne honed her skills on the stages of prestigious European opera houses. As a member of the esteemed Tiroler Landestheater ensemble in Innsbruck from 2005 to 2011, she had the privilege of receiving mentorship from renowned director Brigitte Fassbaender. She worked with esteemed directors such as Peer Boysen, Marina Wandruschka, Heinz Zednik, Renato Zanella, and Fran莽ois Racine. These experiences led to regular performances at both the Vienna Volksoper and the Salzburg Landestheater.

She is known for flawlessly performing the complex embellishments of Angelina (La Cenerentola) and Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), showing off her mastery of Rossini鈥檚 coloratura roles. Her extensive repertoire showcases remarkable stylistic adaptability, ranging from the virtuosic bel canto to the dramatic intensity of Wagner. Her roles include Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), Dorabella (Cos矛 fan tutte), Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Stefano (Rom茅o et Juliette), Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Nicklausse (Les Contes d'Hoffmann), H盲nsel (H盲nsel und Gretel), Lola (Cavalleria Rusticana), and Flosshilde (Das Rheingold).

In 2023, she performed as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at the Op茅ra de Qu茅bec, a role she approached with both precision and sensitivity.

Prestigious Collaborations and Chamber Music Excellence

A versatile artist performing in seven languages (French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Korean), she has distinguished herself on the most remarkable stages, including Vienna鈥檚 Musikverein and Konzerthaus, the Berlin Philharmonie and Lyon鈥檚 Auditorium. Her artistic journey has led her to work with renowned orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg, under the baton of celebrated conductors such as Cornelius Meister, Sascha Goetzel, Jochen Rieder, Dietfried Bernet, Clelia Cafiero, Francesco Angelico, Kevin John Edusei, Adrian Kelly, and Nicolas Chalvin.

She particularly excels in the recital and concert repertoire of orchestral works, where her subtlety of nuance and musical intelligence find their full expression. An emblematic figure of the Sainte-P茅tronille Chamber Music Festival and the Rendez-vous musical de Laterri猫re, she interprets with equal mastery the masterworks of German lieder, French art songs, and Italian and Spanish repertoires.

Pedagogical Excellence and Advanced Specialization

Having taught intermittently since the beginning of her career and full-time for over a decade, Lysianne now devotes her international expertise to training the next generation. She teaches as a professor at Universit茅 Laval and coordinates the Musical Theatre program at C茅gep de Sainte-Foy. She previously taught at the Conservatoire de musique de Saguenay and served as Academic Coordinator of the Acad茅mie du Domaine Forget in Charlevoix.

Her warm and positive pedagogical approach, focused on the unique needs of each student, reflects her philosophy of supporting not only technical development but also personal and artistic growth. She mentors students at all levels, from college through doctoral studies, plus professionals in rehabilitative voice training, an advanced technical specialization that demonstrates her in-depth expertise in vocal physiology.
