About the ÂÌñÉç Wind Orchestra

The ÂÌñÉç Wind Orchestra was founded in 1956 by composer and educator Morley Calvert. Under the direction of Dr. Danielle Gaudry since 2023, the Wind Orchestra performs a wide range of repertoire spanning established works in the wind band tradition to innovative contemporary compositions. Dedicated to celebrating and honouring the diversity of the wind literature, each concert program is carefully crafted to showcase the versatility of this symphonic ensemble. Ìý

Committed to artistic collaboration, the ÂÌñÉç Wind Orchestra regularly works with members of the Schulich community including guest composers, soloists, and conductors. Additionally, the ensemble dedicates itself to engagement with the greater community through collaborations with local ensembles and organizations, and secondary school musicians, performing a side-by-side performance at the annual ÂÌñÉç Honour Band festival in addition to its four concerts per year. From 2001 to 2021, the ÂÌñÉç Wind Orchestra was conducted by Alain Cazes.Ìý
